Etched glass always has that extra feel to it: different layers of coloured glass are melted on top of each other, after which the top layer is removed with the help of an acid or an engraving device. The latter is the case for the Folla vases: with a lot of patience, grain-like motifs were engraved on the matte brown surface, so that you can almost see through it. Also available in a smaller size.
