Etched glass always has that extra feel to it: different layers of coloured glass are melted on top of each other, after which the top layer is removed with the help of an acid or an engraving device. In the case of the Frassassi, an imposing iridescent, bronze-coloured bottle was treated with acid over its entire length, creating a matte metallic effect.
